In the course of water supply and sewerage, the students learn the subjects of water supply engineering (including collection, transport, treatment and distribution) and sewerage work engineering (including sewer and storm systems). Water and wastewater treatment processes are only introduced in water supply and sewerage. Therefore, the theory and practice of water and wastewater treatment are the main topics in the course of engineered systems for water and sewage treatment (environmental engineering (II)). Those topics include units of water and wastewater treatment processes: mass balance and fluid characteristics, filtration, coagulation and flocculation, removal of dissolved ions, disinfection, membrane, advanced water treatment, water reclamation and reuse, activated sludge process, sludge treatment and disposal. In addition, unit operation lab and site visits of drinking water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant will be part of this course.
